Corporate Punishment

wearechange.org becomes yet another reporter of the corporate wish to make people pay for something they did not make or own. “Irish Water’ placed a clause in their contract to supply water to home owners that was undoubtedly copied and pasted from an American corporate model.

It goes something like this:-

If rain falls out of the sky and into the drains, the water is accepted as the natural cycle of water returning to the water tables to be treated and used again.

If that same rain water falls out of the sky and a person collects the water for personal use before discarding the used water into the drains, there is a charge levied on the use of the drains for discarding the water that was not the property of the company.

So let me get this straight. If we let all the rainwater wash down the drains there is no charge but if we use some of it first, then let it go down the drain, there will be a charge for the use, wear and tear of the drains.

Technically the water company is trying to attach an additional charge for the personal use of rainwater that they did not supply. Yet no matter how you look at it, those who want to conserve water are being punished by the water company because the water company makes no profit out of water not going through their water meter.

The reason for doing this is a simple one; corporations exist solely to make a profit. Since the moment of their creation they had this one pursuit in mind (as it is with virtually all businesses but the heart and soul of local business works in harmony with local people to build a prosperous community whereas corporations don’t care about communities). In the beginning, however, corporations existed for the purpose of building a bridge or creating something that would make more productivity and then disbanded once the project had been fulfilled.

A film documentary entitled THE CORPORATION shows a documentary that can illustrate far better than I how the US 14th amendment was used to turn a corporation into a ‘person’ and thus allow the said corporations to continue as an entity beyond the purpose of one project or event; See film https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pin8fbdGV9Y&list=PLCDF6B02DFD948794

Corporate lawyers achieved the birth of monsters without conscience. The sole purpose of corporations is to make money and that does not have to take into consideration the people, animals, plant life or finite resources of this planet. I personally fail to understand how a ‘person’ identified as an entity with rights is not then equally subject to the same criminal punishments including having their assets stripped and imprisoned for theft, murder and criminal damage.

Of course, if a corporation cannot be imprisoned it is clearly not a person. The legal ruling that said otherwise is therefor an Act of legal stupidity that should be revoked immediately and all corporations disbanded forthwith.

But the governments and tax collectors of this world are hardly going to bite the hand that it believes is feeding it. Sadly the people are feeding the same institutions either because there is a monopoly, like Irish Water, or the said corporations hide behind other names and brands to the point that we have no idea who owns what.

So what next? Already the CEO of Nestle is reported to have said that water should not be a right but a sale-able commodity; and readily steals water from villages in Pakistan, forcing them away from their homes.  In the UK, Nestle produce ‘Buxton Spring’ and ‘Pure Life’. But they are not alone in what might be called euphemistically unethical practices. http://www.theguardian.com/sustainable-business/2014/sep/01/ethical-bottled-water-companies-nestle-coke

Charging for air is not a new concept. Oxygen machines in Tokyo have been used for years because of the smog. Now a Venezuelan (Caracas) airport is trying it http://www.bustle.com/articles/31426-caracas-airport-charges-flyers-for-clean-air-ominously-calls-it-breathing-tax

I find it difficult to understand how this is in any way right. If I, as a person, were to dump a whole heap of smelly domestic rubbish onto a public road and then charge people who want to use the road by making a clear pathway, could I then stand up in a court, deny culpability, claim profit as a justifiable excuse and then carry on polluting roads?

If a corporation is a ‘person’ then it follows that a person is equal in the eyes of the law. The only difference that I can see between myself and the legal status of a corporation - if it is also a person -  is that I can in no way afford billions of any currency and years of my short life arguing tiny points of law through court after court, as surely any challenge to a mega rich monster is able to do. This is the only reason that I can see that governments, who are now wallowing in debt, often to the very same corporations who have no interest in the well being of the people or the world we live in, would shudder at the notion of trying to prosecute a ‘person’ of any crime if the punishment to the person caused sudden and terminal loss of tax revenue.

So if I had that sort of power an influence over entire governments then yes, I could carry on polluting roads and do what the hell I liked.

If there was ever a need for reform it would be to revise the status of corporations. In the meantime, the last thing we should do is allow a further entrenchment of rights for profit to visit our shores.

What we see in the charging for the air we breathe and the rainwater falling freely from the sky are examples of the kind of profit grabbing that will come from the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/comment/what-is-ttip-and-six-reasons-why-the-answer-should-scare-you-9779688.html

The crazy thing is that the people don’t get to vote on this deal that will allow corporations to charge governments for loss of profit if they don’t accept the pollution, the genetic modifications and the damage that will inevitably be caused by their products. It is an insanity but all governments are being arm twisted into accepting it because corporations generate tax revenue. The only thing you can do is make sure you let your MP know, especially at election time, that you will vote for those whose party are opposed to TTIP, which in the UK pretty much rules out Conservatives, Labour and Liberal Democrats; all the major political parties. In fact the only party credible enough who will protect you from all of the above is most likely to be the Green Party.

I believe it is important that we do not squander what little influence we have as individuals. We are living in a time where personal responsibility extends to beyond the normal focus of family and loved ones. It is our responsibility to become more aware of what we are not being told openly. Otherwise we will suddenly find ourselves being fitted with personalised chips and charged for air by the breath, taxed on the level of liquid consumed, charged on the balance of overweight to our body mass index (BMI) and penalised for any periods of ‘non productivity’.

You think it can’t happen? Is it any less crazy than being charged to use rain water?

UK General Election 2015 prediction

With the political, statistical and other pundits disputing each other on whether Conservative or Labour will form the next parliament, it is perhaps the right time to jump off the fence and say what I believe the astrological charts tell me who will win the 2015 UK general election.

The closing of election voting booths in the UK is 10:00pm on Thursday 7 May 2015, signifying that the people have cast their votes and all that there is left to do is to count them. The chart for this moment, set for Westminster, is therefore the symbolic chart for who will form the next government.

Immediately we can see in the symbolic event chart that Saturn is sitting within one degree of the Ascendant. Jupiter in the 9th house rules the Ascendant (change of power). Saturn deposits the Moon and Pluto in the second house (the people are fed up with austerity and want to get rid of the incumbents).

It isn’t hard to see how Saturn, structure, is tied to the globalisation of Sagittarius in such away that the next UK government will have to work within the limitations already inherent in the world’s financial situation. In easy words, the world has no money and we are in a right mess. No government in one country can change what is happening. Therefore they can only work within the limitations that the global financial restrictions allow. See Greece, their elected left wing government and how they are dealing with their debt as a work in progress that is slightly ahead of where the UK is right now.

To the Conservatives, this chart means cutting money from anything but banks and businesses. There has been a concerted effort of the Conservative’s coalition government to penalise those on welfare benefit and to encourage insecure jobs and zero hours contracts. The UK people are mostly disenchanted by this and they are weary of stinging cuts to government and local council jobs that drain services to the barest minimum.

These are very unpopular policies and yet Saturn on the Ascendant signifies a ‘back to basics’ style of government. The necessities of life are very much at the forefront of the minds of the electorate and it will be the basic policies on which the electorate casts their vote. However, Saturn determines that whoever get into power on 7 May 2015, there will be no room for wasteful policies or budget giveaways. On this we will watch closely to see if the abolition of the bedroom tax is fulfilled.

The natal chart for the Conservative party, 12 November 1867, 12:00pm UT Westminster, shows Mars at 3º Sagittarius, right on the Ascendant for the close of the polls. The lesser and greater malefic join at the point of presentation to the people. It is a party at war with everything and transiting Pluto at 15º Capricorn is within a few degrees of the Conservative Ascendant (18º Capricorn), suggesting that it will be a short step from self destruction as both it and the UKs political stability fragments. David Cameron is unlikely to remain as leader of the party if they are in opposition.

The Labour party’s chart, 12 February 1906 12:00pm UT Westminster, has Jupiter at 27º Taurus in conjunction with the transiting Mars (6th house) of the election chart. Transiting Saturn is just in the 12th house and transiting Mars in the 6th, so action (Mars) needs to be taken to improve the basic needs (Taurus) and well being (6th house) of the people. This is in opposition to the austere cut to the bone presentation that the electorate have experienced and will remember when going to the polls. It is the hope of the electorate that a new government will make their day to day lives a bit easier. But the secondary chart of the Labour party at the time of the election has a Venus Neptune conjunction, which suggests visions of illusion and glamour. Also in secondaries there is a stellium of planets in Gemini: Mercury, Sun, Jupiter, Pluto and Mars. The feeling I get is of a government weighed down heavily by every day minutiae, unable to formulate any meaningful progressive policies and discovering that it does not have anywhere close to the money it needs to do anything effectively. I also imagine that if the Labour party forms a government it will have to wade through the treacle of parliamentary interference and deliberate bureaucracy. With Saturn on the Ascendant, nothing will come easy.

The Liberal Democrat chart 7 March 1988 0:00am GMT Westminster, has few aspects to merit but there is a Uranus Saturn conjunction at 0º - 1º Capricorn that is in conjunction to the transiting Moon of the election chart; both in the 2nd house. There will be a long standing memory that the Lib Dems, in their coalition with the Conservatives, went back on their promise to not raise tuition fees for students. Then they supported a huge hike in fees. Despite their leader apologising on TV for making a promise he could not keep, the poll ratings for the Liberal Democrats plummeted. I expect therefore that the Lib Dem seats in the house of commons will crumble, contrary to many polls. Moon and Uranus have a common symbolism of divorce; freedom from (Uranus) the people (Moon). If there is any prospect of coalition with Labour, they would most likely change their policies more to the right to balance Labour’s inclination to lurch to the left (Liberal Democrats secondary Sun is applying very loosely to the natal Uranus of the election chart).

The United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) has a chart that suggests it could win seats. Their main policy has always been to hold a referendum with a view to exiting the European Union. The chart, 3 September 1993, 12:00pm BST Westminster, has a number of loose but influential connections. Transiting North Node 8º Libra opposes the natal Moon at 6º Aries suggesting that the party has a wide populist appeal but the extreme right wing element of the party (and here curiously is a Uranus Neptune conjunction at 18º Capricorn) makes it a little too radical for a populace that is not ready for yet more wild and chaotic change. Transiting Pluto at 15º is only three degrees from the Uranus Neptune conjunction, which conjures up the ongoing notion that the status quo (Pluto) of left wing (Neptune) and right wing (Uranus) politics is under the UKIP spot light. They want to rip apart the two party system and are happy to pick away at the corruption and statistical mendacity. So UKIP has no chance of winning the election but their natal chart suggests that they will be around and making a nuisance of themselves for the next parliamentary term. The secondary Sun at 2º Libra is close enough to the election chart Midheaven to believe that the party’s leader, Nigel Farage, is a strong candidate to win his seat in Parliament. If nothing else the inclusion of UKIP has great entertainment prospects and could even embarrass a few politicians with some home truths.

The Green party has been a minor party for some years with at least one parliamentary MP but a much wider public appeal. As such they have been acknowledged as an influential political party even by their peers. I do not know the chart being used for the party but it’s origins go back to a meeting of the founders in a pub in Daventry on 13 October 1972. I have given it a time of 8:00pm only because this would be the usual meet up time in a pub for many. What strikes me immediately about this chart is the Jupiter Moon conjunction at 1º Capricorn, which is conjunct to the transiting Moon of the election chart 2015. There is a possibility that the Green party could increase its share of the vote, as voters have already become disenfranchised with the main stream political parties but want to register a vote. Whether this increase translates into seats remains to be seen. The transiting North Node is also conjunct to the Mars of the Green Party at 8º Libra. The focus of the people on what is fair is something the Green Party will want the electorate to take action on. Furthermore, the transiting Midheaven of 0º Libra is in conjunction with natal Pluto, 2º Libra, suggesting that the Green Party could indeed gain influence in balancing the power of what looks increasingly like a weak Labour minority government. Transiting Saturn is also conjunct to the Green’s natal Neptune. This might be a natural choice for those voters who do not want to vote for the Liberal Democrats or Labour. It could well be considered a protest vote and yet with secondary Mercury thrown into the Saturn Neptune conjunction - and with the Green Party joining the live television debates, it is possible that some people may take the Green policies a little more seriously than they did before.

So my prediction for the UK 2015 election is a weak minority Labour win. Conservative and Labour will hold their safe seats, so as the loathsome First Past the Post system retains the same old votes, thus disqualifying millions of voters from ever being represented by their preferred political persuasion, the only real democracy then falls to the ‘unsafe’ seats. Cheadle, which over the last 15 years has been held by Liberal Democrats... but only just. Now that will be an interesting result.

Can real proportional representation capture the intended votes of the majority? Of course it can http://shaneward22.blogspot.co.uk/2009/05/real-proportional-representation.html

Two other parties should be mentioned: The Welsh party Plaid Cymru (pronounced ‘plied cum-ree’) and the Scottish National Party (SNP). I suspect that both parties will hold their ground, which might mean that they become influential in swinging votes in favour of whatever main party will deal with them.

The 2015 election chart is not a good one for any political party. Mars is at 26º59’ Taurus; very close to the fixed and most violent star Algol. I expect that, if nothing else, the Labour party will want to expose as much corruption and filth as it can from these last five years of the coalition government. I hope that some good reforms can come out of it but it will not be pretty. Expect an attack on banks, bankers and bonuses. Expect the City of London to be hostile to the new Labour government. Expect that money will not be where the Government wants it to be, so tax raids on the rich may be the only futile gesture Labour has to show the electorate that it means business. But above all, expect endless squabbling, disharmony and lots of finger pointing. The object of this game is to obfuscate, discombobulate and bamboozle the electorate. Unfortunately I expect many who do not read this kind of blog will become victims to the smoke and mirrors of political bickering and journalistic propaganda.

But all the point scoring in the world will avail nothing because Saturn is in Sagittarius and the UK economy is a puppet on the world stage. Control over the UK economy is an illusion - no government with such huge debts has much of a choice if they wish to dance to the tune of the IMF, the BIS and the corporate wishes of large institutions. Through no fault of it’s own, Labour will be presiding over the biggest global depression since the 1930s. Theglobal financial reset is already underway. Labour will happily point out the illusions and denials of the Conservative years. One can almost hear the bickering now and yet it is right that main political parties show their true colours, and the reality of their lack of control, in these dark times. It is a necessary process for people to understand that what they vote for has changed dramatically. Just as the UK has devolved areas of authority to Wales and Scotland, so the global capitalist system has dictated monetary policy. It is just that the main stream political parties are in denial and the press who are supposed to keep you informed are ruled by those who do not want you to know what is really going on.

The most immediate dangers to the UK electorate is to make sure that the whole globalisation agenda does not force through the evils of GMO foods and corporate mugging through TTIP. And for this reason I would encourage anyone who has not decided if they will vote or not to go ahead and vote. I would also encourage people to vote for any other party than the Conservatives, Labour or Liberal Democrats. None of them can change what is about to happen but none of them work for the people because they are sponsored by business donors or unions. What we need globally is a political force that really does represent the people. This will not happen while the elite and the corporate powers hold political parties to ransom. You will also not hear this from corporately owned newspapers (that’s all of them) so stop buying newspapers because they do not tell you the news.

What this election should show you is all that is so wrong with the current financial and political system. We are approaching an enormous turning point in 2020 where the changes we would like to see can be possible if we did but focus and pay attention to what is wrong now. The 2020 election leads us into a ‘fixed’ societal period with a focus on development of every day living. One hopes to see the separation of casino bank and high street, to ensure that the crash of 2008 and 2015 do not happen again.

For the record, it was not Labour that caused the credit crunch but they did not save money when they could have. It will also not be Labour’s fault that the world will go into a global depression but they will be frustrated at every turn by the willfulness of the Conservatives to sabotage any possible benefit to the people. As with every day since their foundation, they will not be working for the people. Now is the time for this to change.

Aries Ingress 2015

The importance of the years leading up to the 2020 Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto conjunctions is often underestimated. We know, for example, the dates of the start of world wars but not the dates the seeds were planted. Did World War II really start in 1939? Could it have been prevented? And in the light of recent events, how much of the war was driven by the economic conditions the powers that be set for us all the way back to the beginning of the creation of the Federal Reserve in 1913?

In the UK in 1979, Margaret Thatcher became Prime Minister; the first woman to do so. She was praised by the right wing for her actions and vilified by the left wing for the devastation she wrought. Love or hate her, she was the only person with a plan at the time the Saturn Pluto conjunction started to apply. Change was indeed required and she administered that change with such determination that she became known as the ‘iron lady’. Her work did not begin in 1982 but pretty much 5 years before. She had to make plans, gather allies, build a campaign and so much more. We do not owe her a debt of gratitude; we need to assess why it was that her methods were considered necessary by some at all.

So here we are, some five years before a new world order emerges out of the chaos and we are at that very place again. People in the UK will recall the crumbling establishment of 1974, the union strikes, the violence, the year there had to be two general elections. Some will recall the winter of discontent in 1978-79 where rubbish was piled high in the streets attracting rats and other vermin, power cuts and three-day weeks. Are we to expect that, after the last of seven squares between Uranus and Pluto has occurred on 15 March, that the effect of the closing Saturn Pluto cycle will have any less of an impact?

Back in 1979 Saturn in Virgo highlighted employment as the focus of contention. Saturn was also in a closing Saturn Pluto cycle. Just before the 2015 Aries ingress, Saturn has spent around two and a half years in secretive Scorpio highlighting obscurity of plans, closed meetings, structures unrevealed. Saturn ingressed briefly into Sagittarius on 23 December 2014 but will go back into Scorpio. It turns retrograde on 14 March 2015, the day before the last Uranus Pluto square and disappears back into Scorpio on June 15 2015 for 3 months, stationing direct on 1 August 2015 and finally revealing what has been going on behind eveyone’s back on 18 September 2015. In less than one year the Saturn Pluto cycle will be in the same closing stages as it was back in 1979.

According to the planetary cycles, and we cannot ignore the cycles when looking at a snapshot like the Aries ingress, we are only a few months from a fundamental shift in society, only this time the Saturn Pluto cycle is reinforced with the Uranus Pluto square. With such powerful cycles interacting one can only portend how much greater the change will be.

Jupiter is in Leo, applying by trine aspect to Uranus in the Aries ingress chart and sextile the North node. It is also inconjunct Mercury. It has yet to make a closing square with Saturn. We have already seen the audacious greed with which individuals acquire money. We have witnessed how the corporate, the politically bought, the rich and influential rig the system to ensure personal wealth and the belief that this is ok at the expense of others (nothing new there).  We are ‘told’ in the UK how austerity measures are working and that the economy is getting better. What we see is how the cost of living gets higher and salaries do not match the increases. We see house prices soar beyond the reach of the Y and millennial generations. For those who can afford it, now is the time to insure ones self against the changes to come. For many, however, there is no money, no security and only three rent (and mortgage for that matter) payments away from homelessness.

The political elite will have us believe that a vote for them is a vote for change (2015 is a general election year and the campaign will be well underway).

Conservatives will tell you that their programme is working and we are paying our deficit (We are not. The government had to borrow money to pay the deficit balance and nothing of what we pay in tax is reducing the DEBT).

Labour will tell you that we are in a cost of living crisis and only they can make the changes to put things right (They can’t. It would take over 400 years to pay off the current DEBT without paying interest on the deficit)

Liberal Democrats will tell you that neither Conservatives or Labour can be trusted with the economy. In fact none of them can be trusted with the economy because they are all influenced by banks and corporations who pay them to allow the economy to reach the impossible debt mountain that exists today.

The most amazing thing is that NONE of the political elite are even talking about the 900% GDP debt that the country is in collectively. NONE of the politicians are admitting that it will take 400 years to pay off the debt. NONE of the politicians are talking about the solution to this problem that the powers that be have laboured over for years and are about to reveal to an unsuspecting public. Why? because they have to crash the present system in order to build a new one and we the 99% must endure an economic depression as a result. If they told us that there would be riots on the streets now instead of later.

But more importantly than just one country, NONE of the political elite are telling their people that this crisis of debt is GLOBAL. How can one political party promise so much without telling us how we are going to be affected by global economic conditions? The absence of honesty is completely breath taking and we have to hold all politicians to account for either their ignorance or their mendacity. We also have to hold all predatory corporations to account for their reckless influence over the lives of people in their pointless pursuit of ever greater profit. No one has ever come up with a safety break; instead we get boom and bust and always the 99% suffer. Only the 99% can make it stop if only they could organise themsleves.

Not until Jupiter goes into Virgo in August (although possibly earlier in late July at the Jupiter Saturn square at 28º) will we start to see the societal structure, as we have known it for the past 30 years, begin to unravel. In the Aries ingress chart, Mercury is close enough to Neptune to warrant a word of warning about what governments would have us believe.

Venus is strong in Taurus but semi-square Chiron in Pisces and inconjunct Saturn in Sagittarius. So the banks are fully capitalised and strong (thank you very much) but the ordinary people have no money to spend. Stock market prices soar to new and ever greater heights on the back of government bonds and debt derivatives. And that is the weakness - it is all borrowed money. The world has tried to get out of debt by creating more debt. But the NEW money has gone to people who are not consumers; therefore all the quantitative easing in the world is not going to revive a flagging world economy. It is possible at the Aries ingress that we will start to see chinks in the corporate and political armour. The stock markets might wobble a bit before the complete crash coming probably in September / October 2015. I imagine there is going to be an awful lot of fire fighting and damage limitation exercises throughout the whole of the 2015 summer. In August everyone is on holiday (possibilities of a recall to Parliament in August?) so by the time Parliament returns and the money markets resume there will be some fierce activity that may finally reveal the awful truth.

But none of this will seem so bad at the Aries ingress; ok, not good perhaps but nowhere near as bad as it is going to get.

Mars in the Aries ingress chart is also very strong and in semi square to Neptune. Activities in oil continue to surprise us. When the price of oil was higher it made fracking affordable. The US has tried to make itself independent of other oil producing countries by the use of fracking. In the UK the government has tried to allow business to explore fracking; there is plenty of shale gas in the UK to do what the US has done. But  fracking is dangerous and full of chemical pollutants. The cost to the US has been consistently played down by the political elite because the current global economic system for them is perilous. The UK is no better, completely reliant on foreign corporate investment and supply for our energy. Russia supplies the UK gas and France our new nuclear programme and gas storage. If Russia were to withdraw its gas supply we would be in terrible trouble.

As the US tries to punish Russia for it’s ‘invasion’ of the Ukraine and annexation of the Crimea, the sanctions include driving down the cost of oil. The problem for the US is that Russia has set up a partnership with China and can swallow the lowering cost of oil beyond the point where fracking is profitable. In short the US will crack before Russia does.

Now if the fracking projects fail, all of which have been created on borrowed money and invested into the stock markets, and they go bust - the debt derivative bubble will burst and the whole house of debt related cards will come tumbling down.

...but it will not happen at the 2015 Aries ingress; Mars is still pulling the diseased economy. Venus runs on ahead, appearing to gorge on debt, unstoppable and unsatisfied. It is like a one sided match where the stronger team won the match ages ago and every new goal is an embarrassment but full time has to be played out. No one in the money market will relinquish it’s share of the embarrassment and no one will stop until the final whistle calls a halt to the debacle.

Now we can look at the Aries ingress chart in respect of the UK 1801 chart. Immediately we can see the Moon exactly on the descendant of the 1801 chart. The Moon is our resources; it is representative of the people. The North Node is close to the Ascendant, challenging those in power to focus the country on our relationship. The Sun, by default always appearing in the sixth house, generates an interesting condition for our political elite at the time of an election campaign. They are going to want to show us how they are working for us and what they want us to see as ‘the way forward’. Neptune in the 5th I think will divide the nation between those who are blinded by the lies and the glamour against those who can see what is really going on and are fooled by none of it (a trend that has existed for many years but is about to change slowly as Neptune ingresses into the 6th house). Here is where Russell Brand said on the UK TV programme ‘Question Time’ that if the politicians wanted the people to vote then ‘give us something to vote FOR’.

The Moon applies to Uranus, suggesting that at this particular point there is growing skepticism among the British electorate, implying a strong likelihood that May’s election will not necessarily show a swinging endorsement for a new Labour government (as some expect) but could in fact generate yet another hung Parliament. Labour may win the most seats but only if the cost of living becomes the main focus (the NHS threatens to dominate the campaign). Liberal Democrat hopes of holding the balance of power may be dashed by the incandescent feelings of supporters over the perfidious promise not to raise student tuition fees, only then to endorse the Conservative policy as a quid pro quo to one of it’s own.

Jupiter in transit was recently conjunct the UK1801 secondary Jupiter and moving back to the secondary Sun (both in the 11th house). It also trines the natal North Node in the 7th house. The rise of the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) has stirred a lot of radical nationalism among the British populace. In the European Union (EU) elections UKIP won quite a few seats, courtesy of the proportional representation system. In the general election, however, the voting system is based on a rather unfair ‘first past the post’ which was argued for on the basis that it returned strong governments; not so at the last election and possibly the next one. The Liberal Democrats argued for proportional representation at the beginning of the 2010 government term but the people were only offer the ‘Alternative Vote’ (AV) system, which was not understood, hardly proportional in the sense that you would be forced to make second and third choices rather than have your first choice count and not the best Proportional Representation (PR) system available.

UKIP may still find itself popular with the voter at the general election but will find itself experiencing the same disappointment as the Liberal Democrats in terms of winning seats in the House of Commons; but they will stir up British nationalism and possibly some other unpleasant side effects.

The point is that Jupiter in the 11th house appeals to our belief in Britain as a nation. It is a significant issue right now and it should be noted that by secondary progression the 11th house is fully occupied with Sun, Jupiter, Mercury, Saturn and Mars visiting the sole natal Saturn that usually typifies the so called British ‘stiff upper lip’. Jupiter sits at the beginning of this stellium and by transit will work it’s way along each of the planets mentioned over the next few months. So there will be some very big debates over what Britain believes - which ironically may change greatly as it what it believes it knows is systematically destroyed by some inescapable truths.

Saturn in transit is at the very beginning of the 3rd house. A general election is such a nice distraction from global events. You can see how easy it would be for the government to ‘bury bad news’ or ‘inconvenient truths’ from the general public. There is also a danger perhaps that, for the two main parties at least’ there may be a pissing contest to see who can be the toughest on crime, the hardest nut on foreign affairs, the biggest on the war on terror, the loudest mouth against world opponents; politics at it’s worst. Jupiter on the secondary Sun leans towards obnoxious behaviour already. To have it emphasised with a government (potentially) trying to play the ‘big I am’ to the home crowd it is positively dangerous. UKIP is perhaps likely to be the biggest culprit her as it vilifies Europe and insists that those who vote are demonstrating the will of the people to get the hell out of the European Union.

Neptune has now past Natal Pluto and sits quietly on the 6th house cusp, waiting to become the administrative instrument for the new global economic hegemony. Anyone who saw the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s speech at the Mansion House in 2014 knows that Britain has already done deals with China and has set itself up to play a global role in the financial reset that hardly anyone knows about. It demonstrates clearly how the political elite (particularly the likes of George Osborne) does not desire to ensure that everyone knows what the hell is going on. Because if they did there would probably be a linch mob outside number 11 Downing Street in the morning.

Perhaps the most insidious placement in the Aries ingress chart is Venus in transit conjunct solar arc Uranus (freedom of my money). It has been noted that those people ‘in the know’ are already taking their money out of the UK and placing it in ‘safer’ places. I suspect that this will continue to happen without fanfare of comment.Taurus is known for the gathering of personal resource, in ensuring the basic necessities. Is it too far ahead to wonder what would happen when the freedom of Uranus, in terms of 7th house partnerships, moves over to the 8th house of ‘other people’s money’ by 2019? It may be that we will be spending the next Saturn Pluto cycle promoting values other than the so-called British ones.

So what do we do with all this information? The Aries ingress chart of any year is not particularly significant; it is more a convenient point to look ahead in the same way that 1st January New Year is intended.

Mundane Astrology is, after all, meant to be a practically applied discipline. To begin with it may be worth pointing out that if anyone tries to reassure you that all is well with the world and YOUR money - do not believe a word of it. They are either ignorant, deluded or lying. You should not vote for them. If you do you only have yourself to blame when you get the same old nonsense explaining that whatever happens was the fault of the LAST government.

The next task is to become aware of what is really going on. Do not be distracted by petty government elections that will mean nothing to you unless they come clean and tell you what is really going on. Start looking at the financial global reset (there are many to choose from in google) and may look into the selfless work of mundane astrologers William Stickevers and Theodore White; the results of collaborative work may just prove how effective joint effort is in the field of mundane astrological prediction.

Finally, do what Venus in Taurus suggests; protect yourself with the basics while you still have the chance. Don’t wait for others to prompt you. This is a time to quietly make plans and build up your resources for a sudden ‘unforeseen’ (so-called) event. You could be looking at up to two years of unforeseen and you only have about six months from the Aries ingress to get ready.

And as for the political and economic situation? If you are on a minimum wage you might think it is nothing to do with you as you don’t have any money anyway. But you might want to stop to think why the minimum wage is not enough to live on in the first place. For now it is too late to stop the changes in progress - and the next 33 or so years are already structured by the powers that be. We cannot change it now. We can only work to understand it and make it work for us.

But it is not just the global changes that we have to look at. When you start to consider what it is you are about to go through (and in less than a year EVERYONE will understand) you have to start thinking about why it is that 99% of the world’s population have no power to alter the economic background of the planet. The answer is quite simple; most people are not interested. And why should you be if you are barely making ends meet, your focus is mainly on your family and you don’t want to have an interest in politics anyway?

Except, of course, that politics always has an interest in you. You are affected by what these people put into effect. THEY are the reason you will suffer at some point in your life over money, food, infrastructure and all the things you DO care about.

So what you CAN do is be much more discriminatory about where you spend your money and who you support politically, corporately and financially. Look at how many people in this generation are prepared to where coats made out of real fur; hardly anyone because of the cruelty to animals and the attempt to ensure they do not become extinct. Likewise the use of ivory. Collectively we can run undesirable businesses out of the market. But each individual person has a responsibility to themselves and to their family to make sure that companies who do not pay taxes are not supported, that fast food chains responsible for childhood obesity are not supported, that genetically modified food does not take over the world food market, that energy companies cannot charge extortionate prices... the list goes on.

The reason we head towards such an unpleasant change (change was always inevitable but it could have been so much better) is that the mass population stood by and did nothing. This Aries ingress is personal. It appeals to our homes and our personal lives. It challenges our beliefs about global issues. It challenges us to reflect on what we are told in contrast to what is really happening.

You don’t have to believe me about anything I have said here. But just a little digging on the internet and you will see I am not the only one. Indeed experts in the financial world will attest to an impending stock market crash. What you have to decide about is what are you going to do to protect yourself from its effect?

The Aries ingress is a chart that gives you a snapshot of the new astrological year. You will not see what is to come in the planet positions and aspects. You really do have to look at the cycles (see the Barbault scale). Only then will the chart speak volumes and you will realise what this year’s contribution is to the start of a new structural cycle in 2020.

Capricorn Ingress 2014

This is maybe one of the more important ‘seed’ moments in the history of Capricorn ingresses. The Uranus Pluto square has one more hit to go on 15 March but Uranus stations on the 2014 Capricorn ingress and is very much applying by square to Pluto. So whatever seeds are sown at this point in time, there must be an element of global reform to be considered. One must question if they are sowing seeds on fertile ground or will the future sweep away all hopes and dreams in the shape of change?

Note that the Sun, mercury, Pluto and Venus respectively occupy Capricorn. The Moon (representative of the people) at 28 degrees of Sagittarius trails almost out of synch. Saturn at 29 degrees of Scorpio is about to enter Sagittarius briefly but will dip back into Scorpio later in the year. So even now you may not be able to see clearly the structures that have been built out of sight of the general public. Maybe when Saturn leaves Scorpio you might get a small glimpse before it is taken away again, only to be revealed later when it is too late to get ready or do anything about it.

The general population are out of touch with the changes that are about to happen.

There is perhaps just a little time for the late comers to make preparations for what must emerge at the Aries ingress and flower into the new astrological year. In short there is little time to get in front of the curve and protect yourself from harsh times ahead.

Transiting Venus and Pluto conjunct the Natal Sun of the UK 1801 chart. The UK debt, when added together, amounts to about 900% of GDP, similar to that of the German Weimar Republic. The debt is impossible to pay off and the austerity measures are not even matching the interest payments (expressed by the UK government as the deficit). Quantitative Easing (QE) simply gave money to the banks and cannot continue indefinitely. But the debt problem is not just the UK. Pluto resides around the world axis where many national charts have their Sun. This is a world debt that can only be solved with a global solution. Hence the powers that be have worked towards what has been termed as the global financial reset.

The petrodollar has all but gone. The reserve currency will soon be a basket of currencies including the Chinese and Russians. Fiat currencies will be hardest hit in the transition including the US, the EU and subsequently the UK. Not enough people in the UK are even aware of what is going on and are ill prepared to deal with the fallout.

Mars in transit is applying by conjunction to natal Venus in the UK 1801 chart. Perhaps this indicates the growing activity of gathering together ones resources but the question is where? Putting money in a bank is hardly safe if the bank’s liquidity is wiped out by a stock market crash. The bank will then ‘bail in’ your money. And even if you take all your money out and stick it under the mattress, if the bank doesn’t get you - hyperinflation will.

Jupiter in transit is at 22 degrees of Leo applying to the Natal Saturn by conjunction. In what will be an election year for the UK there will be questions about where society is going. It is unfortunate that the political parties, probably very well versed in what they are not telling everyone else, will give you all the old twaddle about what makes Britain great, people want change, the present economic strategy is working and how voting will somehow make your life better. It won’t. No political party can dig one country out of a global hole by barely paying off the interest on a loan or taxing the rich by a few measly million quid.

In short the UK public are being lied to by politicians working for corporations and business (not the people) or the politicians we are expected to vote for (who will continue to work for corporations and business (not the people)) are deluded, incompetent and out of touch with global reality. Remember this when the canvassers turn up on your doorstep and give you a load of ideological guff about policies that will change nothing.

Transiting Uranus applies to the UK North Node. Uranus in Aries is a pioneer. We are looking at new change and the UK will need to focus on how it has to change to meet the new conditions. Transiting Neptune has passed Natal Pluto but it still hangs around by making a conjunction with secondary Pluto. The scandals of sex, paedophilia , MPs expenses, Bosses bonuses, bank fraud, LIBOR scandals and the rest of the fraudulent and seedy behaviour should be at the back of the minds of every electorate. The way the entire system operates smacks of systemic abuse and dysfunction. It is the system that must change before MPs can really make a difference to the people they are really supposed to be representing.

Perhaps the most important message to come out of the Capricorn ingress in 2014 is to consider what it means to ‘plant the seeds’. In some ways it is not so far from the notion of a New Year’s resolution. The difference is that you have to formulate a New Year’s resolution before you can act upon it. If you wait to think of one until January 1st you are already too late; it might be a January 2nd resolution instead. In other words it will be too late.

Now is the time to look ahead and make plans for what you want to do with your life but the transits in the sky suggest that you also need to be very aware of the way the world is about to change. If you don’t know what I am talking about you should perhaps become more familiar with my previous blogs on Barbault. Look up global financial reset on a search engine. Look up the works of William Stickevers and Theodore White. What is coming is not new but it is amazing how many people have no idea what is coming.

Hope: A Political Currency

On the back of the recent US mid term elections, where the incumbent President, Barrack Obama, found himself surrounded by unsympathetic Republicans, one has to go back to look at the reasons why Obama was elected in the first place. And I believe that the overwhelming reason for his election was the hope that this new kid on the block could make a difference. There was hope.

Fast forward six years and that hope is all but gone. The fickle nature of “what’s in it for me” voters changing their colours faster than a chameleon rushing to back the next ‘hope’ for a better future, while disenfranchised Democrat true believers live in apathetic unwillingness to stand up for the ideology they once endorsed so enthusiastically.

Hope. Almost like a Keynesian aspiration of ‘animal spirit’ that drives consumer confidence; so the politicians tap into it like an opiate, attempting to leech out every last drop of it from the mistrusting electorate. And now politicians clamber over each other in their attempt to rationalise why, within their ideological political bubble, the drugs don’t work anymore?

Here in the UK, as I believe is typical of the entire Western world, people have grown weary of empty promises, endless spin, mendacity and meaningless bickering between parties. Throw in a few paedophiles, some financial scandals and the odd corporate outrage and there is not much room for the ordinary people. Recently in the US there was a report that implied that the country was no longer a democracy but an oligarchy. I believe much could be said for most countries in the Western World. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-echochambers-27074746

It astounded me when I heard a politician suggest that ‘hope’ was somehow the primary ingredient to making a successful government. It was Charles Kennedy, former leader of the Liberal Democrats in the UK, who said on the TV programme ‘Question Time’ that politicians needed to offer the people hope. The original questioner had asked if the main political parties believed that they were in crisis. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_k2C_O4ye0 Every politician preferred to use the word ‘challenge’ rather than crisis; semantics already confirming an accusation yet to come.

Prior to this, the general mood of the people reflected the current grievances surrounding unmanaged immigration, politicians being out of touch with the people and how much they did not listen.

The Conservative minister for housing, Brandon Lewis even paid lip service, as so many politicians do, that they needed to listen to the people.

A member of the audience observed that people don’t relate with the party political leaders Miliband (Labour), Cameron (Conservative) or Clegg (Liberal Democrat). He went on to say that this is the reason why UKIP (United Kingdom Independence Party) has become so popular. Indeed one of the reasons why it was suggested that UKIP was so popular is because its leader, Nigel Farage, was able to speak plainly and without political party twaddle.

Douglas Alexander (Labour) then gave us a fantastic example of that very twaddle. by saying,

“The party that will prevail in the general election in six month’s time will be the party that can most convincingly capture the sentiment for change because what is ubiquitous ...in every part of this country is a desire for change to move on from the sense of pessimism and anxiety that people fear today.”

On the basis of this kind of delivery, you can understand why there is no hope to be found among the main political parties of the UK.

People do not go to work to earn hope. They cannot get the weekly shopping and pay for it with a wallet full of hope. They cannot keep a roof over their head with hope. The promise of ‘jam tomorrow’ has been promised once too often.

Abraham Maslow created a useful model that he named the ‘Hierarchy of Needs’. On the very top was food, water, warmth, shelter. These are some of the most basic needs and, curious though it might appear to politicians, hope is not on the list. None of these, incidentally, appear on the top of any corporate businesses list; The top of their hierarchy of needs is just one word - profit.

In 2014, the general population is looking to politicians to help them obtain the most basic of needs. In contrast, the current Conservative / Liberal Democrat coalition are not addressing it. Food prices go up, utilities of electricity and gas go up, house prices soar beyond reach and rents outrun wages. Welfare benefits slashed and - not to leave out the water (which also goes up) - support of fracking in the face of fierce opposition from the majority of the UK electorate.

And what do they tell us? They said jobs are up and taxes have been cut. And yet in relative terms that means nothing to the person who is not in work or to the person on a minimum wage where no amount of tax cuts will make a difference, or to the rent payer whose rent has risen beyond their ability to pay. Hope does not live in a society where there is no living wage.

Mr Brandon Lewis and all of his Conservative colleagues can listen but it is not enough to listen if the ideology they hold does not allow them to understand that only an egalitarian society can produce a stable and healthy society. Politicians need to be able to act  and respond positively to the needs of the people and not to the needs of their ideology or those of the corporations who are really running the country.

In some ways I suspect that Douglas Alexander is right but I truly wish that he was not. The party that will prevail will, as every government in the Western World is doing, sell some pie in the sky hope for change where the only real change will be who the taxpayer pays to do nothing meaningful to our country.  So the best that I can hope for is another hung Parliament where we pay different people to do nothing good as usual.

What Mr Alexander described as the sense of pessimism and anxiety cannot be washed away by some forlorn hope. No matter what government is formed, austerity will continue, the European recession that is just around the corner now will deepen the economic crisis experienced around the world. No amount of hope can change this. Only the reform of money and the way we do banking can change this.

No amount of hope, it would seem, is going to stop politicians from being led by corporate interest rather than by the people. As Mark Twain said, if voting made a difference they wouldn’t let us do it, proving that the oligarchy has been around for decades and they simply dress it up as democracy.

Politicians are fed by civil servants - by ‘Sir Humphreys’, alluding to a popular TV programme ‘Yes Minister’ that encapsulates how the young enthusiastic politician is gradually sucked into the quagmire of the political system, only to swim helplessly in ever deepening bureaucracy.

For example, recently there has been attempts to appoint an appropriate person to head an enquiry into paedophilia within the political establishment. So far two appointees have had to resign because they are also part of the same establishment and could not be seen to be independent. A bright lad in the audience on the same Question Time programme suggested that the appointee should be from another country - brilliant suggestion but begs the question why the government or their advisers did not come up with it sooner. But it does point the finger at the system behind the politicians as a huge part of the problem.

The same kind of problem with the system is what has stifled the plans Barrack Obama had for the United States. His programmes have been filibustered more times than any other President in history. For what is supposed to the most powerful country in the world, it’s people are fed crumbs from the trickle down policies led by the oil, gun, pharmaceutical , financial and military corporate machines.

There is no hope while corporations strangle governments and nations in pursuit of profit and main stream media cannot report the difference between what we need to hear and what the corporations that own them want us to know. In my opinion this is not true journalism and there should be an international law defining the distinction between what is corporate or state sponsored reporting and what is independent journalism.

With the US Dollar and the Euro in serious trouble, there is nothing that politicians can offer us that will give hope. And yet, as we who seek beyond the lies, know what is just around the corner now, the politicians do not offer us the truth either. Charles Kennedy said on the programme mentioned above that the electorate needed to be treated as adults but I see no evidence of it here. So many of the electorate are left in the dark because governments do not tell them the truth, the electorate has no interest in current affairs or because there is absolutely no main stream ‘independent’ media reporting it.

Is it any wonder that if hope is the currency of politicians - and in times of austerity and need, the currency of people is money - the solution is that politicians have to be able to give people the hope of money... and then deliver it. Clearly this is not going to happen any time soon.

This is why the task that everyone must bend their efforts towards is reform of money and the system in which it operates.

It took thousands of ordinary people, the electorate in the UK to force politicians to hold a debate on ‘Money creation’. 38 degrees was instrumental in managing the petition that led to the historical debate that has not occurred for 170 years. It found that 7 out of 10 politicians believed that only the government can create money, when in truth 97%  of money is created by banks in the form of loans. https://www.positivemoney.org/2014/11/press-release-debate-money-creation-parliament-heres-mps-must-attend/

Now if our politicians do not know this simple truth, what hope could there be for any meaningful reform? In fact what hope is there for any of us if our political elite are not in command of the most fundamental basics of economics?

Hope does nothing without results. Politicians need to change their currency by changing our currency. In short, they will get enough hope to be elected on when we get enough money to live on.
